Knitting and Crochet Term 2

Ref: C3671069

You will be guided through the processes and techniques involved in completing a knitted or crochet project from beginning to end. You will be encouraged and helped to work on your own project during the course. Each week the tutor will demonstrate and teach a particular topic which will help learners become more confident working by themselves from commercial patterns, and encourage more advanced learners to tackle something new. Topics covered will include: Yarns and fibres and choosing the most appropriate for a project. Starting and finishing a project from casting on to casting off and assembling. Demonstrations of some useful basic and more advanced stitches. As well as developing practical skills, the course will also look at regional styles such as Arran or Fair Isle along with demonstrations and information about sources and further instruction.
