I will work with students to improve confidence in their ability to develop artistic skills and creativity. learning the skills of many crafts by watching and following step by step demonstrations, with one to one help and guidance you will make unique dimensional projects, learning how to use a multitude of skills and resources, to include making a scrap book, stamping and embossing, parchment craft, painting and colouring techniques, glass painting, mixed media, sewing and mosaics. We will explore and try crafts of your choice to meet your individual needs and expectations during the course. This is a fun course for everyone from the complete beginner to those wanting to improve their skills, no prior knowledge is needed just a desire to learn and develop your skills and creativity, gain confidence meet new friends have fun and make something wonderful.

Course aim

To provide a safe welcoming and supportive environment in which students can learn and develop their craft skills building up confidence to develop their own artistic skills and creativity.

- The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What will it be like?

WEA classes are friendly and supportive. You will be encouraged to work together with your fellow students and tutor. You will be asked to share your ideas and views in the class and work with the group to give and accept feedback in a supportive environment. The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you to be actively involved in your learning. You may be asked to undertake work to support your course outside of your class.

How will I know I'm making progress?

- A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion - You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor - You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning - You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions - A file of work will be kept which will help to record your progress - There will be a number of tasks appropriate to your course such as written work, creating art or craft, video, photography or small projects. Some of these may be marked to help you progress

What else do I need to know, do or bring?

- All materials will be provided - A selection of materials and basic equipment will be provided but you are welcome to bring additional materials with you
