Learning About Films 2

Ref: C3670699

In what would have been centenary year both for Ingmar Bergman and Rita Hayworth we will be assessing a number of Scandinavian comedies including some of Bergman's as well as looking at ground-breaking musicals (not only Hayworth's but those of Busby Berkley, Fred Astaire, Jerome Robbins, Jacques Demy, Baz Luhrmann etc.). We will also reflect on great British films and critique the output of controversial director Michael Haneke (Funny Games, Hidden etc.). Each session, except the first, includes discussion of a film recently shown on television.
