Taster - Fitness: Aerobics and Body Conditioning

Prepare to get sweaty! Whether you are new to exercise or wanting to improve fitness, coordination and performance this aerobics taster session will give you a full body workout. You willl perform an aerobics routine designed to increase heartrate, stretch muscle groups and build strength and endurance using floor work and body weight exercises. The class will be set to a great mix of music and you will be encouraged to let go and have fun!

Course aim

To use aerobic activity and body conditioning work to increase fitness, improve coordination and build self confidence.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Perform an effective warm up to music
  • Take part in a series of post work-out stretches
  • Listen to pre-cues and respond accordingly

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor

What else do I need to know?

  • A selection of materials and basic equipment will be provided but you are welcome to bring additional materials with you
  • Please bring a floor mat with you if you have one. Wear appropriate clothing Have plenty of water for hydration A towel A post-workout snack if necessary
