Seated Tai Chi

Tai Chi and Health Qigong movements are slow and controlled, improving flexibility, posture and strength. The combination of using the mind while exercising the body promote a sense of wellbeing, reducing anxiety and promoting a sense of calm.

Course aim

To provide gentle but effective seated exercise for anyone not used to exercise or with restricted mobility.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Demonstrate correct posture when performing Tai Chi.
  • Coordinate movements to the music.
  • Demonstrate correct posture when performing Health Qigong.

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • Tutor observation and feedback.

What else do I need to know?

  • Bring a drink of water.

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required
