Building Confidence Through Walking and Exploring the Landscape

The planning and mapping of 14 walks which are then undertaken and led by the learners. The course will span over 14 sessions, commencing with an introduction to map reading and planning a route, with a short walk on the first session. Further sessions will be split into planning and then walking the route. The course will start from pick up points in Banwell, Weston-super-Mare, Worle, Congresbury, Yatton and Clevedon where the planning takes place. The group will then be taken to the start of the walk and the walks will be circular from there. The group will have the opportunity to use many of the footpaths in the surrounding area including the West Mendip Way. The paths are on the edge of the Mendips so include inclines, declines, wooded areas, fields with livestock, footpaths, bridleways and lanes.
