Come to this dynamic, fun workshop which will introduce you to some different approaches to creating and building images. The emphasis will be on process and the journey rather than the finished product. By experimenting with a range of simple techniques and a variety of materials, you will discover the importance of play in stimulating the imagination and freeing- up creativity so that you can think like an artist and find some new directions.

Course aim

To introduce you to some simple and fun techniques and materials which will encourage an open-minded sense of discovery and enjoyment of the creative process.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Experiment with a variety of materials
  • Develop confidence in your creative potential
  • Understand the importance of play in the creative process.

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
  • You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions

What else do I need to know?

  • All materials will be provided

What can I do next?

  • Progress to another WEA course
  • Progress to a course with another provider
  • Become involved with the WEA in a range of voluntary work and other activities including campaigning as a WEA member
