Music-The Story of the Blues

Ref: C3528447

Everyone knows what is meant by a song sounding "bluesy". But it's a little harder to answer the question; "yes - but why?". Through his own singing and playing, early recordings, historic photographs and testimonies, Andrew will explore the extraordinary social history which brought about this strange and influential music: then help students to understand how - through a hundred years of marginalisation and prejudice - it has not only survived, but become one of the major influences on so many forms of modern music.
