A fun Exercise and Dance class. Learn various styles of Dance. Improve our ability to relax. Improve our fitness levels both mentally and physically. Learn exercises that can help improve our daily lives, and can be performed at home. Seated or standing lets dance our way to fitness in a fun relaxed atmosphere. Improving our Balance, mobility, strength and wellbeing. Sharing ideas regarding a healthier lifestyle.

Course aim

A fun Exercise and Dance class, to energise and motivate. Improve fitness levels both mentally and physically. Improve relaxation skills Enjoying Ballet exercises that improve fitness.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers
  • This course is for students who attend a specific centre only. For more information please call 0300 303 3464

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • 1.Give 1 example of improved feelings of wellbeing
  • 2. Give 1 example of improved energy levels.
  • Demonstrate improved mobility
  • Demonstrate improved balance.
  • Complete a relaxed 1 hour exercise activity session.

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
  • Motivated to lead a healthier lifestyle, by the sharing of useful information in class.

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
  • You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions
  • A file of work will be kept which will help to record your progress
  • By - Demonstration and Observation during the physical fun exercise activities.

What else do I need to know?

  • Nothing else is needed
  • All materials will be provided
  • It would be helpful if you had access to the internet (Mobile phone, tablet or computer at home or through a library etc.)
  • Supportive footwear and comfortable clothing. Own research into 'healthy lifestyle' information, recipes, community /world health related topics are encouraged and gratefully received .

Pre-course work, reading and information sources

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required
  • No pre reading is required but research on the subject on the internet or in the library may be helpful
