Mindfulness for Well Being is a 10 week course which is particularly aimed at adults experiencing stress, anxiety or depression. The course will teach meditation, mindfulness, creative visualisation and breathing techniques to help with the stresses of everyday life. The course will provide a toolbox of techniques and participants will be encouraged to develop their own relaxation plan that fits in with their lifestyle. The course aims to work with participants to reduce stress and promote wellbeing.

Course aim

The Course will explore Mindfulness and other relaxation techniques with a view to reduce stress and promote well being.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of Mindfulness.
  • Identify 3 ways that Mindfulness and/or relaxation techniques can promote wellbeing.
  • Formulate a personalised relaxation plan.
  • Experience the impact of mindfulness and relaxation in reducing stress.

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
  • You may be asked to undertake additional work in your own time to support your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
