Spring Flower Workshop

This is a fun workshop using spring flowers to create simple designs that anyone can follow. It is aimed at the beginner and aims to encourage people to explore their own creativity. There is no right or wrong design as they will be your own!

Course aim

To provide a brief introduction to quick and easy floral arrangements in a workshop setting with the opportunity of creating your own display

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • be aware of basic requirements for floral arrangements - oasis, tape, containers
  • Identify different types of foliage
  • understand how to prepare flowers for an arrangement
  • how best to look after your arangement
  • create a simple posy bowl / tea cup arrangement

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning

What else do I need to know?

  • Nothing else is needed
  • All materials will be provided

Pre-course work, reading and information sources

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required

What can I do next?

  • Progress to another WEA course
  • Progress to a course with another provider
  • Become involved with the WEA in a range of voluntary work and other activities including campaigning as a WEA member
