Course aim

Sosa Dance Fitness is a dance class for women to enhance fitness, health and wellbeing. Low impact and aerobic dance routines. Disco, rumba kizomba etc. Fun packed, routines.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers
  • This course is for women only as it is held in a women's centre

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Learn dance routines from rumba to disco, salsa and international dance styles.
  • Improved health and wellbeing.
  • Benefits from enjoying dancing together as a group, and having fun and learning dance steps and the names to different movements in a dance routine.
  • Improvement, of co-ordination, mobility and memory. learning how to use your body and foot movement to create a dance style.
  • Dancing to the music of different routines, learning, the meaning of intro, chorus, verse will help with the knowledge of the dance and know what movements are needed for the routine.

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • The student will be able to ask any questions, and help to understand the dance step technque in order to learn the dance routine.

What else do I need to know?

  • You need to wear low heel nonslip shoes, or trainers and loose comfortable clothes. You need to bring your own water bottle or bottled water.

  • Progress to another WEA course
  • Progress to a course with another provider
  • Become involved with the WEA in a range of voluntary work and other activities including campaigning as a WEA member
