The tutor will demonstrate various aspects of the painted landscape- covering areas such as skies,trees,water, etc. With development of tone, form and colour mixing. With 1 to 1 tuition from the tutor the student can build up their own version of the landscape. The medium used will be acrylic.

Course aim

To provide an introduction to the principals and techniques of landscape painting. to improve the students understanding, colour mixing and brush handling.

- The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What will it be like?

WEA classes are friendly and supportive. You will be encouraged to work together with your fellow students and tutor. You will be asked to share your ideas and views in the class and work with the group to give and accept feedback in a supportive environment. The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you to be actively involved in your learning. You may be asked to undertake work to support your course outside of your class.

How will I know I'm making progress?

- You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor - You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning - You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions - Your work will be informally assessed as the tutor visits each student on a one to one basis. Giving you feedback on your progress,giving suggestions and answering questions. Completion of an Individual Learning Plan.

What else do I need to know, do or bring?

- A selection of materials and basic equiptment will be provided but students are expected to aquire some materials. A list of basic materials will be given at the first class.

Reading and information sources

- No pre reading is required but research on the subject on the internet or in the library may be helpful - There is no reading that is essentialbut but it will help to read other art books as it will further your ability.
