The Online & Digital is primarily for students practising art or creative writing. We will look at ways to improve ones own work, to market it, send emails, use the web for research and upload work. we will also look at digital photography, basic animation and film making. We will help with indidiuals IT needs, ie helping with paying bills etc and general use of the WEB

Course aim

The course is to help and develope peoples IT and online skills, with particular emphasis on art practise. The course will also develop clients use of digital art; whether that be photography or very basic film making.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • It is important but not vital that members also attend the Art class.

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Take photos of their art work
  • Understand and assist with marketing of art through social media.
  • Assist in uploading of work and editing work online
  • Assist in the up keep, promotion of our website and ones own work
  • Learn basic skills in digital imagery, cropping, enhancing, camera work, editing

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
  • You may be asked to undertake additional work in your own time to support your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
  • You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions
  • There will be a number of tasks appropriate to your course such as written work, creating art or craft, video, photography or small projects. Some of these may be marked to help you progress

What else do I need to know?

  • Nothing else is needed
  • All materials will be provided
  • It would be helpful if you had access to the internet (Mobile phone, tablet or computer at home or through a library etc.)

  • No pre reading or pre course work is required

  • Progress to another WEA course
  • Progress to a course with another provider
  • Become involved as a volunteer for a WEA partner or another organisation
