Introduction to Textiles - Weaving, Knitting and Tapestry

Ref: C2419333

The course will start by developing a greater understanding of colour and design. We will then apply this knowledge to making simple textile designs. Students will learn different stitches and the technique for tapestry. The course will progress to experiment with materials, colours and textures to explore the technique of weaving. Students will then learn to knit - how to cast on and off, and basic knit and purl, garter and ribbing stitches. There will be time, towards the end of the course, for students to make something using any, or all of the techniques learned.
