Drawing and Painting - Mixed Media Experimentation

Ref: C2419331

Students will explore contemporary themes in drawing and painting. There will be an opportunity to produce work that expresses more personal ideas, whilst experimenting with new and different ways to use and combine more traditional media and materials. The course will start with some basics - contour, gesture and modelled drawing. It will introduce students to organisation and structure, composition, using colour and contrast and working with photographs and grids. The course will look at the work of other artists in context with the tasks set and encourage the evaluation of own and others' work throughout. There will also be an opportunity to visit galleries to gain a greater awareness of the work of others.
