Drawing and Painting-Developing Skills and Ideas

Ref: C2419330

Students will work from still life and the figure to develop the skills to describe form through a practiced and exciting mark making process. Students will work together around simple still life set ups to develop an understanding of the formal elements - line, tone, shape, form, colour, texture, etc. The course will start by exploring line and gesture. Each week a new project will build on student’s knowledge, offer the opportunity to work with different media and materials to explore ways to describe the still life, develop strong observational skills and encourage new ideas and personal self expression. There will be constant opportunities to analyse and evaluate own and others work and to go to galleries to gain a wider understanding of art and design.
