Plays in Performance

Ref: C2419206

Three current productions will be selected each term by the students. After each visit interactive discussions will take place on all aspects of the productions: The acting, the direction, the design and the lighting. Extracts from the play will be read in class and videos of past productions. Every effort will be made to get cheap tickets: special offers, advance bookings, senior discounts, on-line ticket agencies. The tutor is a professional playwright so discussions will take place on structure, dialogue and character. The student will gain insight into all the components that make up a play, in particular different acting styles and the role of the director. A wide range of plays will be chosen from modern works to plays in translation and Shakespeare. The first play to be chosen is THE FERRYMAN by Jez Butterworth.
