Beginners Mixed Paper Crafts

The focus of this class is to teach a wider range of craft skills to the learner so they can build on their existing skills and push their imaginations further. We will be blending paper and fabric and adding paint and other mediums to create collage and 3d craft items. We will work on a larger project over 3 weeks for the community space in the area where the leaners have their classes. Subjects covered will include decoupage , paper mache, sewing, simple origami,

Course aim

We are going to teach a range of paper crafts but also add fabric and other mediums to create lovely items for the learner or their family/friends.

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • this is for the special learners at clifton day centre only pls

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • to create 2 different origami 3d items to go onto a display in the centre
  • To create a large 1m x 1m display showcasing everyones crafting skills that they have learnt over the last 5 months. This is to include paper mache, sewing and deco patch,
  • To use our sewing skills and make a range of 3d items to give as gifts for Birthday time

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
  • You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions
  • A file of work will be kept which will help to record your progress
  • There will be a number of tasks appropriate to your course such as written work, creating art or craft, video, photography or small projects. Some of these may be marked to help you progress
