Beginners Mixed Paper Crafts

The focus of this course will be to introduce students to a variety of crafts with an emphasis on paper and card craft. Students will be introduced to projects which are simple to do but look effective . These will include card making, book making, scrapbooking and journalling.

Course aim

We are going to teach a range of paper and fabric craft skills to make 3d and 2d items for gifts for yourself or friends or family

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • only for the learner group at clifton. pls do not advertise to others.

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Make 3 handmade cards for 3 different occasions of your choice
  • Make a notebook from old envelopes or other recycled papers
  • Using inks creatively decorate a journal book and complete with `Zentanglements . Add pictures and personal self representations.
  • make 3 sewn felt 3d items to go onto cards to give as a gift

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
  • You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions
  • A file of work will be kept which will help to record your progress
  • There will be a number of tasks appropriate to your course such as written work, creating art or craft, video, photography or small projects. Some of these may be marked to help you progress

  • Nothing else is needed
  • All materials will be provided
