The Early Sixties in Britain

Ref: C2338995

The early sixties have much in common with the 1950s but there were changes even in the first five years. The conservative government found itself with problems across the Empire which led to decolonisation. Culturally new music emerged. Saturday night and Sunday morning and the Loneliness of the Long Distant runner show cased the talents of Nottingham author Alan Sillitoe. A new labour government weas elected and Britain was on the edge of becoming the Swinging Sixties.
