Course aim
To develop communication in everyday situations using more complex sentences and structures (past, present and futures time-frames); increase confidence and fluency in speaking, listening, reading and writing; increase knowledge of French culture.
Do I need any particular skills or experience?
- This course is for improvers
- Two years’ previous study or equivalent experience of the language required
By the end of the course I should be able to:
- Speak with more confidence, using a variety of tenses amongst other things.
- Answer and ask unprepared questions whether in a conversation or after a presentation.
- Listen and understand passages including unfamiliar material like a passage in the news.
- Read and understand passages or articles not always on familiar topic.
How will I be taught?
- The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning
- You may be asked to undertake additional work in your own time to support your learning
What kind of feedback can I expect?
- A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
- You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
What else do I need to know?
- Nothing anticipated, but if there is anything else, it will be discussed in class.
