Vegan Permaculture

A great way to find out more about vegan permaculture this two day 'taster' will give the tools and confidence to take responsibility for our lives and actions whilst 'doing least harm' to our earth and its inhabitants, whether human or non-human. If you need a bit of inspiration on how to live a greener cruelty free life this course is for you!

Course aim

To introduce the ethics and principles of permaculture in a vegan context, to introduce design skills and show examples of non animal based permaculture systems

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • No skills or experience needed
  • This course is for beginners

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Understand permaculture ethics in a vegan context
  • Understand permaculture principles
  • Practice permaculture design processes and methods
  • Be able to give a number of examples of non-animal based permaculture systems in action

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning

What else do I need to know?

  • Nothing else is needed
  • notepad and pen

Pre-course work, reading and information sources

  • No pre reading is required but research on the subject on the internet or in the library may be helpful
  • Permaculture - a beginners guide by Graham Burnett is a useful companion to the course.
