Belly Dance for Beginners

Ref: C2338169

In this course you will learn a variety of slow and percussive movements taken from the dance traditions of the middle east. You will learn how to combine movements to create simple routines, learn a few ready-made choreographies, and gain the confidence to improvise on your own. We will always begin with a safe warm-up and end with a safe cool-down section. All movements can be done on a variety of levels, making it suitable for everyone regardless of your health, fitness etc. and it will improve your stamina and flexibility. We will use music from the middle east as well as contemporary western music which has a suitable feel. Dancing is usually done with bare feet and suitable clothing are a fairly fitted top (e.g. a t-shirt) and loose long skirt or trousers. Some people like to tie a long scarf around their hips.
