Cezanne, his art and life

Ref: C2225262

We will explore Cezanne's art from the first years in Paris in the 1860s to his late years in Aix-en-Provence. We will look at the subjects he came back to almost obsessively (bathers, still-lifes with apples, card players and the Mont Sainte-Victoire). We will also study his painting technique and creative process. Although enigmatic, his personality and personal life will be discussed. Finally, we will address his status in art history. Many younger artists considered Cezanne as "the father of modern art", implying that his example was essential for the early developments of 20th century art.
