This course is for those who wish to paint in the medium of their choice, oils, acrylics, pastels, watercolour or inks .Individual help will be given. You can bring your own project or subjects will be suggested. You may choose to experiment with mixed media for exciting effects. Come and work with like-minded people in a friendly atmosphere and get inspired! Tea and coffee will be provided.

Course aim

To provide an opportunity to learn more about a chosen medium and how it can be used with other mediums for exciting effects

Do I need any particular skills or experience?

  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Experiment with mixed media
  • Improve observational skills
  • Work more confidently with the chosen media
  • Discover how to find artistic inspiration

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
  • You will be encouraged to share your work with the group and discuss your learning
  • You will be encouraged to consider other students work and give your opinions and suggestions

What else do I need to know?

  • Your chosen medium, suitable support ( paper, canvas board), waterpot, brushes ,cloths for cleaning.
