This will include architecture, influential people, artists, fashions and world art deco. Discover what art deco treasures there are in East Anglia and the rest of Britain. Find out about this fascinating time, in a relaxed and fun environment.

An introduction to the art deco era, discovering the many different facets of this opulent and decadent period.

  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • Define the meaning of art deco
  • Identify art deco architecture
  • Discuss and explain why this era started and finished
  • Name some of the influential people from the period
  • Identify examples of the art deco movement in East Anglia and Britain

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
