Ten Operas that changed the World

Ref: C2224528

What was so revolutionary avout Monteverdi's Orfeo. Appreciate how Mozart's Marriage of Figaro united the opera seria and opera buffa forms. How did Verdi's operas (especially Nabucco) further the move towards a united Italy. Ignore the critics, let the public decide (Puccini's La Boheme) Dont be constrained by a verse libretto use prose and ignore taboos (Strauss' Salome) Do Operas have to be tonal (Berg's Wozzeck) and England is not the land without music - Brtiiten in general and Peter Grimes in particular.
