In the late C17 Parliament had become a permanent part of the political life of the nation. this course considers how it developed since then, looking at the emergence of political parties the role of the Pm and the reform of parliament itself

Course aim

to understand the developments in the life of parliament after it became secure in late C17

  • This course is suitable for beginners and improvers

By the end of the course I should be able to:

  • trace the origins of political parties
  • outline how the role of Pm emerged
  • describe some parliamentary reforms

How will I be taught?

  • The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you and the group to be actively involved in your learning

What kind of feedback can I expect?

  • A range of informal activities will be used by the tutor to see what you are learning which may include quizzes, question and answer, small projects and discussion
  • You will have opportunities to discuss your progress with your tutor
