Personal Development (Including Mentoring)

This course is a continuation of previous residentials and classes where the focus was on promotion to outside sources. Discussion will centre on strengths and weaknesses of presentations and feedback from partners and individuals from other sources such as 12 step courses.

Course aim

Primarily we will introduce learners to a safe environment to take part in training where the aim is to produce developmental outcomes. We aim to evaluate any outcomes of the promotion process recently introduced.

What topics will this course cover

Mentoring, feedback, discussion, strengths and weaknesses, evaluation, positive outcomes.

What will it be like?

WEA classes are friendly and supportive. You will be encouraged to work together with your fellow students and tutor. You will be asked to share your ideas and views in the class and work with the group to give and accept feedback in a supportive environment. The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you to be actively involved in your learning. You may be asked to undertake work to support your course outside of your class.

By the end of the course I should be able to:

Discuss apparent weaknesses and how they might be improved upon.. Research on-line information for resolving presentation problems. Discuss results of research and produce handouts at class level and via group email. Practise mentoring as the fundamental basis for all presentations and promotions.

One to one and group discussions each day and mentoring throughout each day and via group emails
