A computer course for learners who have fairly good knowledge/ experience of using computers, designed to enhance skills in using MS Office components i.e. Word, Publisher, Excel and Powerpoint.

• health and safety issues and awareness • Using Word to create, edit and design documents • Create publications using Publisher • Create presentations using Powerpoint • Create Spreadsheets and Graphs and Charts using Excel
What will it be like?
WEA classes are friendly and supportive. You will be encouraged to work together with your fellow students and tutor. You will be asked to share your ideas and views in the class and work with the group to give and accept feedback in a supportive environment. The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you to be actively involved in your learning. You may be asked to undertake work to support your course outside of your class.
By the end of the course I should be able to:
1. Use MS Word to create different types of documents 2. Use Publisher to create publications 3. Use Powerpoint to create and present slide shows 4. Use Excel to create Spreadsheets and Graphs & Charts 5. Identify how the skills developed during the course can help them in a 1) work related and 2) personal capacity

On-going, 1:1 Tutorials, End of the course assessment and feed-back
What else do I need to know, do or bring?
You will be provided with a memory stick for use in the class, but it would be advantageous if you could bring your own to saving home work etc.

The learners could progress onto other advanced Computer courses with WEA or other providers e.g. Desk-top publishing, Spreadsheets, Powerpoint etc..
