NCFE Level 1 Award in Employability Skills is for people wishing to receive a qualification to help them into employment. This course will develop mind set for the work environment, dealing with customers and problem solving.

• learners with special needs, learning difficulties or particular learning requirements • full-time and part-time students • those who are long-term unemployed • pre-16 students in compulsory education • individuals in employment looking for a career change • individuals facing redundancy.
To gain a qualification in employability skills and receive 6 credits.
Who is the course for?
this is a progression course but people with good English literacy and language can join though they will have to do a skills check in order to be accepted

What will it be like?
WEA classes are friendly and supportive. You will be encouraged to work together with your fellow students and tutor. You will be asked to share your ideas and views in the class and work with the group to give and accept feedback in a supportive environment. The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you to be actively involved in your learning. You may be asked to undertake work to support your course outside of your class.
By the end of the course I should be able to:
1) Explain how mind set can improve employability 2) Identify customer needs 3) Demonstrate appropriate customer care 4) Name different types of problems encountered in the work place 5) Identify appropriate ways to come up with solutions for a straightforward problem
How will I know I'm making progress?
This is an accredited course and achievement is assessed by the course work produced throughout the course. Students will receive written and verbal feedback about their progression towards their targets. Tracking sheets will be kept to ensure students are on track with their work. Individual Learning Plans will also be used to ensure students can achieve any additional goals they may have.
What else do I need to know, do or bring?
pens and paper or notebook. If students have laptops they are encouraged to bring them along
