STEMM - Nature Calling
'Nature Calling' is designed to facilitate students' research skills and application of acquired knowledge to participate in a creative project promoting awareness of a natural environment, the canal, within the local and wider community.
To provide a research based creative project about mammals living within the local canal habitat as inspiration, with a view to future involvement with the Canals and River Trust.
Who is the course for?
Disability learners only - People needing support will have to be accompanied by support worker; speak to EB for further information
What topics will this course cover

What will it be like?
WEA classes are friendly and supportive. You will be encouraged to work together with your fellow students and tutor. You will be asked to share your ideas and views in the class and work with the group to give and accept feedback in a supportive environment. You may be asked to undertake work to support your course outside of your class.
By the end of the course I should be able to:
To use prior knowledge and research in small groups to identify the main fauna living in canal side habitats. To display research and information as visual recordings and information sheets in small groups. To create as individuals animal paper puppets inspired by the research. To create simple paper theatres of canal landscapes using photographs, in small working groups. To digitally record the final art pieces, of animals in their environment.
