Course aim

For those wishing to develop their own painting styles and be introduced to new ideas and ways of painting in Acrylic.

Who is the course for?

Beginners to intermediate or the more advanced wanting that extra help.

What topics will this course cover

You will learn how to better mix colours and develop your own palette. Be introduced to new techniques using acrylic both traditional and experimental.

What will it be like?

WEA classes are friendly and supportive. You will be encouraged to work together with your fellow students and tutor. You will be asked to share your ideas and views in the class and work with the group to give and accept feedback in a supportive environment. The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you to be actively involved in your learning. You may be asked to undertake work to support your course outside of your class.

By the end of the course I should be able to:

Mix your own palette of colours Create at least 5 painting techniques Recognise composition Create a painting from start to finish

How will I know I'm making progress?

I will offer individual feedback throughout the course.

What else do I need to know, do or bring?

Old clothes and any brushes if you prefer to use your own. A canvas or canvas board is the best surface to work on, but we will provide paper if you don't have this.
