Walking Words - The Moors
A day course in two parts. In the morning we will go for a walk over the moors. In the afternoon workshop we will look at the work of published writers who have been inspired by this landscape, and use these inspirations to do some writing of our own.
To go for a walk of 4-5 miles in the morning, then in the afternoon to look at some poetry and prose inspired by that type of landscape, and use both to inspire some writing of your own.

Walking, landscape, nature writing, poetry, prose.
What will it be like?
WEA classes are friendly and supportive. You will be encouraged to work together with your fellow students and tutor. You will be asked to share your ideas and views in the class and work with the group to give and accept feedback in a supportive environment. The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you to be actively involved in your learning. You may be asked to undertake work to support your course outside of your class.
By the end of the course I should be able to:
Complete a walk of 4-5 miles. Make observations about the scenery whilst walking. Read some poetry inspired by landscape. Read some prose inspired by landscape. Write something inspired by these experiences.
How will I know I'm making progress?
Feedback will be verbal and informal in a group setting.
What else do I need to know, do or bring?
Please wear suitable footwear for walking and bring waterproof clothing in case of inclement weather. You will also need to bring notebook/paper and pen for the workshop. Lunch is not provided, so you will need to bring lunch or money to buy lunch.
