Creative Crafts for Pleasure
This 'Creative Crafts' course will enable students to try different 'cost effective' crafts to create a variety of decorative items for gifts and pleasure. The course is aimed to improve your wellbeing and confidence through participating in fun and relaxing craft activities.
To help individuals design, create and make a range of hand made gifts for themselves, friends or family. This course will include such crafts as: needlework, textiles, card/paper crafts, painting on a variety of materials and card making.
Who is the course for?
This course is suitable for anyone with an interest in crafting in a social context.

What will it be like?
WEA classes are friendly and supportive. You will be encouraged to work together with your fellow students and tutor. You will be asked to share your ideas and views in the class and work with the group to give and accept feedback in a supportive environment. The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you to be actively involved in your learning. You may be asked to undertake work to support your course outside of your class.
By the end of the course I should be able to:
Identify existing craft levels - painting, drawing, working with different materials and techniques Produce a range of projects which reflect your personal creativity Create a range of paper craft resources using different designs and techniques Produce a project using textiles which incorporates different recycled embellishments Establish ways to relax outside the classroom through skills developed during the course
How will I know I'm making progress?
Assessment will be carried out throughout each session by observation, Q & A as well as peer assessment within the group. Photographic evidence will also be gathered of students work.
