Top to Toe for Women
This course will give you an introduction to a range of therapies and will help you build confidence, reduce stress and promote general wellbeing. You will find out about progression opportunities
To increase confidence, reduce stress levels and also promote general wellbeing. It will also enable you to discover hidden skills that you may already have.
Who is the course for?
This course is for women only as it is held in a Women's Centre.
What topics will this course cover
1st week – Introduction to the course content, WEA paperwork & enrolments, Health & Safety, initial assessment. 2nd week - Paperwork and enrolment, discussion healthy eating, how food has an effect on our skin and hair plus quiz. 3rd and 4th week - Face Shape and Facial (theory) talk about the products. Recap 5th and 6th week - Basic Make-up (Practical). 7th and 8th week - Corrections, shading and high lighting and shaping eyebrow, 9th week - Make-up Techniques, Day Make up 10th and 11th week Fantasy make-up. Practical, evaluation and final assessment.
What will it be like?
WEA classes are friendly and supportive. You will be encouraged to work together with your fellow students and tutor. You will be asked to share your ideas and views in the class and work with the group to give and accept feedback in a supportive environment. The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you to be actively involved in your learning. You may be asked to undertake work to support your course outside of your class.
By the end of the course I should be able to:
Look after their skin, hair and hygiene/health. Demonstrate that they can do a facial. Demonstrate how to do basic day make-up. Demonstrate how to do Fantasy make-up. Be creative and bring out hidden potential.
How will I know I'm making progress?
Feedback will be given both verbally following practical tasks and written on marked assessments. Feedback will be on-going throughout the course to let you know how well you are progressing
