To be able to work with flower paste, developing skills to produce more technically forms of flower making. Working with modelling paste enhancing modelling skills

What topics will this course cover
To make a spray of Wisteria with flowers, buds & leaves To make a spray of of lilies with buds & foliage To make a variety of baby shoes and sneakers
What will it be like?
WEA classes are friendly and supportive. You will be encouraged to work together with your fellow students and tutor. You will be asked to share your ideas and views in the class and work with the group to give and accept feedback in a supportive environment. The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you to be actively involved in your learning. You may be asked to undertake work to support your course outside of your class.
By the end of the course I should be able to:
Handle flower paste prepare to use Make delicate hand modelled flowers Wire individual petals with softening, veining and dusting techniques Wire into an arrangement or spray Modelling baby shoes and sneakers
How will I know I'm making progress?
Verbal feedback given with every stage, encouragement of development, where things might work better if done differently
What else do I need to know, do or bring?
For making sugar flowers you will need a non stick board and a small non stick rolling pin a variety of different gauged wires, cutters and veiners

Looking for specialist books to buy, or in libraries on Sugarcraft and flower arranging
What could the course lead to?
Watching demonstrations & going on workshops will help gain experience & confidence with more new learning skills
