Developing your confidence - for women
Learn and develop techniques to raise your confidence and self esteem in specific areas of your life. Identify areas where you already have confidence and explore ways to build on skills already developed. Learn how important communication is to deal with building your confidence in a positive manner. Recognise positive traits in ourselves and how our body language can impact on others.

Who is the course for?
What topics will this course cover
What is self confidence? What is self esteem? Establish areas where you need to build confidence or develop further Establish areas where you are already confidence Transferring skills from one area to another Establish the body language traits you use and respond to.
What will it be like?
WEA classes are friendly and supportive. You will be encouraged to work together with your fellow students and tutor. You will be asked to share your ideas and views in the class and work with the group to give and accept feedback in a supportive environment. The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you to be actively involved in your learning. You may be asked to undertake work to support your course outside of your class.
By the end of the course I should be able to:
Identify areas where your confidence needs to be improved Identify areas where you are confident but may not realise it Develop and adopt strategies to aid in the development of your confidence and self esteem Develop & establish communication skills with other members of the group Practice using confidence building & self esteem techniques in a 'safe' environment
How will I know I'm making progress?
Feedback and assessment will be carried out throughout each session by observation, Q & A and discussion. Where appropriate peer assessment will be carried out within the group.

Further practice and taking building confidence and self esteem a stage further through attending community based courses or a mixed WEA courses in a different subject area of your choice
