Introduction to Complementary Therapy - taster
This evening taster session is designed to give you a brief overview of a range of complementary therapies to include aromatherapy, reflexology and fully clothed massage. We will cover the basic principles of reflexology, learn how aromatherapy works on the body and experience how essential oils can help with health and wellbeing. Georgia is passionate about her subject, with over 24 years teaching experience delivering accredited courses. Whether you have a passing interest or possibly looking to take this as a career progression move, come and join us at Windmill Hill City Farm.

This is a taster session. A related course will start in May 2017.
To engage and motivate individuals to explore the fascinating art of complementary therapy with a possible view in progressing on to the seven week course where we explore this subject in more detail.
Who is the course for?
This course is open to absolute beginners, right through to those who have a little experience in the subject. Designed to encourage, motivate and educate individuals to embrace complementary therapy and use as part of dealing with minor ailments.
What topics will this course cover
Aromatherapy Reflexology Fully clothed massage (also known as on site massage)
What will it be like?
WEA classes are friendly and supportive. You will be encouraged to work together with your fellow students and tutor. You will be asked to share your ideas and views in the class and work with the group to give and accept feedback in a supportive environment. The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you to be actively involved in your learning. You may be asked to undertake work to support your course outside of your class.
By the end of the course I should be able to:
1. Briefly describe reflexology 2. Demonstrate correct thumb walking technique used in reflexology by using safe working practice 3. Identify favourite essential oil
How will I know I'm making progress?
Your course tutor will give you regular feedback on how well you are grasping the subject in this relaxing and fun environment.
What else do I need to know, do or bring?
A hand out will be provided. Please wear comfortable clothes. You may want to work on other particpants or work just on yourself...your course...your choice.
Reading and information sources
This is not required as part of this course, however the tutor will advise you of any books for those interested.
What could the course lead to?
For those interested in progressing on to the seven week course, upon registration a course handbook will be provided to use as revision and reference on a weekly basis.
