This course will help you work towards a qualification in ICT by developing your skills and confidence in the use of Microsoft Office software packages: Excel and PowerPoint and integration.

Enrolment is via Reception Office, Carlton Centre, Carlton Street, Weston-super-Mare, BS23 1UA, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. Tel: 01934 426442. All students must register with Carlton Centre. No session on 02/06/2016.
To support students to develop/review knowledge and skills in using computers to get ready for further learning and work.
Who is the course for?
This is a targeted course aimed at students who are registered with the Carlton Centre. Students must have attended Basic and/or Intermediate ICT course at the Carlton Centre.
What topics will this course cover
Microsoft Excel (spreadsheets) - Levels 1 and 2 PowerPoint (presentations) - Levels 1 and 2 How to integrate different packages - Levels 1 and 2
What will it be like?
WEA classes are friendly and supportive. You will be encouraged to work together with your fellow students and tutor. You will be asked to share your ideas and views in the class and work with the group to give and accept feedback in a supportive environment. The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you to be actively involved in your learning. You may be asked to undertake work to support your course outside of your class.
By the end of the course I should be able to:
1. Open and manipulate a variety of Excel spreadsheets 2. Open and manipulate a variety of PowerPoint slides 3. Identify different Microsoft Office software packages and choose appropriate package for a given task
How will I know I'm making progress?
Through completion of Student Learning Record, question & answer sessions, and mock tests.

Reading and information sources
What could the course lead to?
More advanced course (e.g. at local FE college) or ICT qualification ECDL through BCS (British Computer Society).
