This is a practical art class, focusing on drawing techniques You are free to work on your own themes or the tutor is happy to help you with your idea development. We aim to exhibit work as a group annually. This is a non-formal and relaxed environment. We provide Easels, some materials and tutor support.

Studio practice offers a safe space within art and well being for those who wish develop work independently on themes of choice with guidance from the Tutor
Who is the course for?
What topics will this course cover
Drawing in the wider sense, using a variety of exciting techniques and materials offered. You are encouraged to work independently to build a portfolio of artworks. The tutor is there to offer you creative support and inspiration.
What will it be like?
WEA classes are friendly and supportive. You will be encouraged to work together with your fellow students and tutor. You will be asked to share your ideas and views in the class and work with the group to give and accept feedback in a supportive environment. The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you to be actively involved in your learning. You may be asked to undertake work to support your course outside of your class.
By the end of the course I should be able to:
1. Learn a variety of drawing techniques 2. Be an active part of a group and share ideas and creative support 3. Experiment with materials 4. Be open to new ways of creating an image 5. Experiment with scale and mark making.
How will I know I'm making progress?
Through visual and oral feedback form the tutor.

Some ideas of artwork you would like to create.
Reading and information sources
No reading is necessary, however looking at art and art books should be considered.
