Confidence Programme 045
This course looks into why we suffer from lack of confidence and self awareness issues. After pinpointing learners causes we then go on to understand how we can build our confidence and self awareness to get more out of life. We will use the skills acquired to further build skills needed in work/educational institutes such as Teamwork. The course uses both theory and practical experiences (including mechanisms learners will be able to use in their daily lives) such as guided meditation.
The Confidence Programme aims to equip learners with the foundations in confidence, self awareness and teamwork skills allowing them to progress onto further education or employment opportunities.

We will cover: What is confidence/how it effects us How we can build up our confidence What is Self Awareness and how we can build it up Understanding stress and how we can tackle it effectively How to work in a group situation Effectively work in groups and interact with both group members and staff How to communicate your message How to handle criticism and praise and how to handle it without effecting our own confidence Understand how relationships within a team effect us How to set goals and develop plans to achieve them
What will it be like?
WEA classes are friendly and supportive. You will be encouraged to work together with your fellow students and tutor. You will be asked to share your ideas and views in the class and work with the group to give and accept feedback in a supportive environment. The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you to be actively involved in your learning. You may be asked to undertake work to support your course outside of your class.
By the end of the course I should be able to:
he learner will be able to: understand what causes the feeling of lack of confidence understand methods of managing stress be able to effectively set own goals and plan to develop them understand how to work in a team and their responsibilities towards both group members and staff members be able to accept both criticism and praise and offer it effectively.
How will I know I'm making progress?
Learners are given feedback throughout the 10 weeks of the course.
What else do I need to know, do or bring?
Learners are required to providing pens for written work, as well as a ring binder and plastic wallets to create a portfolio of their work.

Suggested material lists will be provided as the course evolves around learners.
What could the course lead to?
The course can lead to pathways into education (functional skills), voluntary work (further improve Teamwork skills and build on what was learnt in class) or employment (should learners have previous skills/qualifications and lacked the confidence in pursuing a job).
