A Graceful Retribution: Hereford’s Shirehall.
Two hundred years after its opening, the Shirehall continues to serve as a senior criminal court and hosts a range of administrative and cultural activities. The session will look at the archival evidence for the history of this imposing classical structure and considers the scale of the effort that saw its construction. There will also be an opportunity to examine some of the cases that were brought to a solemn conclusion within its walls. Led by Rhys Griffith, Senior Archivist
