The Advanced Spanish classes will be very interactive with plenty of activities for all. There will be a mixture of individual and group learning in a very relaxing atmosphere.

Course aim

This course will give learners the tools needed to help improve their knowledge of the Spanish language

Who is the course for?

Adults aged 19+ with a good command of Spanish language and grammar up to level 3

What topics will this course cover

Grammar, speaking in conversations, reading and comprehension, listening, and writing

What will it be like?

WEA classes are friendly and supportive. You will be encouraged to work together with your fellow students and tutor. You will be asked to share your ideas and views in the class and work with the group to give and accept feedback in a supportive environment. The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you to be actively involved in your learning. You may be asked to undertake work to support your course outside of your class.

By the end of the course I should be able to:

Students will; Conjugate verbs in various tenses, Identify with pronouns, Identify with prepositions, Demonstrate advanced listening, speaking, reading and writing skills

How will I know I'm making progress?

Constant informal feedback with both formative and summative assessment. Formal feedback via the Individual Learning Plan (ILP)

What else do I need to know, do or bring?

Pen, paper and a bilingual dictionary

Reading and information sources


What could the course lead to?

Further study at a higher level such as the Open University or with further/higher education colleges
