You will learn some basic jewellery making skills including wire work and seed beads, using findings to complete work and safe use of tools. Learners with previous experience will be able to build onto the skills they have already achieved.
The course aims to teach you a wide range of jewellery making skills to make beautiful projects for yourself, family and friends.
Who is the course for?
What topics will this course cover
Learners will be shown the ancient art of Viking knitting with wire to make a beautiful bracelet. They will be able shown basic wire work and seed beading. Learners will experience tutorials in macramé and leather wrapping. Learners will also be able to make their own creations with a session in recycled jewellery.
What will it be like?
WEA classes are friendly and supportive. You will be encouraged to work together with your fellow students and tutor. You will be asked to share your ideas and views in the class and work with the group to give and accept feedback in a supportive environment. The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you to be actively involved in your learning. You may be asked to undertake work to support your course outside of your class.

How will I know I'm making progress?
Learners will have an initial assessment at the beginning of the course, Learners will be able to fill out a learning diary, One to one assessment throughout the course. At the end of the course learners will fill out an evaluation form.

everything is provided, Learners can bring their own tools if they wish
