The course will encourage group collaboration in a joint project that is to be agreed by the group. You will share your experiences, information, research, development skills and work as a team to present your findings

Course aim

The course aims to create a welcoming, safe, flexible and social learning environment by accessing and using applications (apps) via the internet. Using a community group page to help aid and support our learning.

Who is the course for?

What topics will this course cover

Using and showing skills relating to: computer, research, presentation skills, communication skills, work as part of a team and use own initiative when required: Computer Jargon relating to programs being used Introduction and use various software via the internet (including email) Accumulate and share Information, Present your information

What will it be like?

WEA classes are friendly and supportive. You will be encouraged to work together with your fellow students and tutor. You will be asked to share your ideas and views in the class and work with the group to give and accept feedback in a supportive environment. The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you to be actively involved in your learning. You may be asked to undertake work to support your course outside of your class.

By the end of the course I should be able to:

1.Recognise and use interface features (menus, icons, option buttons, links, windows, dialogue boxes, drag and drop, copy and paste, cut 2.Change simple software settings (set page orientation, set page layouts including margins and line spacing 3.Store information, (open and save files, know how to insert and remove media 4.Follow safety and security practices 5.Use simple searches to find information 6.Enter, edit and format information including text, graphics or other digital content to achieve the required outcome

How will I know I'm making progress?

Regular monitoring which includes, Completed activities/tasks, verbal feedback, ILP's (individual learning plans)

What else do I need to know, do or bring?

A reasonable sized note pad and pen, Memory Pen (no more than £5) Good sense of humor will help
