Want to take your camera off automatic and explore the options? Learn new techniques to improve your picture taking? Join this friendly and supportive class and learn how to improve your skills and techniques to improve your photographs and be able to save your images and find them, be able to display or show your pictures to others and tell a story with your images.
To be able to use various settings on the camera. To be able to use a variety of compositions to improve picture taking. To be able to down load and store images so they can be found easily. To be able to present saved images to an audience .

What topics will this course cover
Exposure. Camera options. Compositions. Techniques to improve pictures. Displaying your images for audiences.
What will it be like?
WEA classes are friendly and supportive. You will be encouraged to work together with your fellow students and tutor. You will be asked to share your ideas and views in the class and work with the group to give and accept feedback in a supportive environment. The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you to be actively involved in your learning. You may be asked to undertake work to support your course outside of your class.
By the end of the course I should be able to:
1, Interact with your camera to produce better pictures 2, Use various compositions to produce more interesting pictures 3, Know techniques that will support your camera in various situations 4, Work safely and responsibly 5, Identify various ways in displaying your photos
How will I know I'm making progress?
We use individual learning Plans (ILP) and will review this throughout the course. Consistent feedback is provided on completion of an activity or session, even when you feel you are not getting any where.
What else do I need to know, do or bring?
Memory/Flash Pen, (no bigger than 1GB approximate cost of £5-£6) Camera manual/instructions

What could the course lead to?
You could continue with follow in photography classes with the WEA to develop your skills further over 3 terms and work towards a recognised national qualifiction in Digital Photography. Some of our students progress onto higher education and have started small photography businesses.
