This course aims to use Pilates to help you strengthen and stretch your body to improve posture, core and lower back. Pilates helps with balance, breathing and wellbeing.
Who is the course for?
Women Only. Students must be a member of WHIST
What topics will this course cover
Gentle strengthening exercises on a mat to improve the body and help with aches and paid. You will see the benefit of improved posture. All levels welcome and no previous experience necessary.
What will it be like?
WEA classes are friendly and supportive. You will be encouraged to work together with your fellow students and tutor. You will be asked to share your ideas and views in the class and work with the group to give and accept feedback in a supportive environment. The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you to be actively involved in your learning. You may be asked to undertake work to support your course outside of your class.
By the end of the course I should be able to:
Demonstrate 3 Pilates exercises to help strengthen the core Understand how Pilates helps improve posture Understand how Pilates helps improve balance and breathing Demonstrate some de-stressing techniques Understand how pilates can help ailments and keep the body strong
