Course aim

This course - Exercise to music - aims to help improve health and wellbeing and give students the opportunity to learn a series of exercises that can be done at home on a daily basis to help physical and mental health.

Who is the course for?

Women only. Students must be members of WHIST

What topics will this course cover

Aerobic activity at all levels to suit individual needs Some mat work to improve muscular strength and endurance Meditation techniques Stretching exercises to improve the body.

What will it be like?

WEA classes are friendly and supportive. You will be encouraged to work together with your fellow students and tutor. You will be asked to share your ideas and views in the class and work with the group to give and accept feedback in a supportive environment. The WEA tutor will use a range of different teaching and learning methods and encourage you to be actively involved in your learning. You may be asked to undertake work to support your course outside of your class.

By the end of the course I should be able to:

Demonstrate good co-ordination when exercising Demonstrate a series of simple exercises at their own level Understand their own fitness level and how to improve Improve balance, co-ordination and breathing Improve cardio activity Know how to use meditation techniques to wind down after exercise and help with calming the mind.

How will I know I'm making progress?

we will keep notes on progression with demonstration and questions
